Today is our last day to work on the rocket, and we have finished and put the India flag and fins onto the rocket. We couldn't use cardboard for the fins, as it would create too much drag and be hard to cut. As a result, we utilized plastic portfolio material, which Clay brought in. While this material flexes easily, it rarely creases and in light and thin enough to reduce drag on the rocket. The fins were attached using hot glue, which unfortunately drove up our cost by $20,000. We cut grooves for the fins into in order to keep them stable while also making them evenly placed around the rocket. An Indian flag was placed on the side of our rocket as part of our contract agreement with India - they would supply us with canvas for the Hab in return for exclusive partnership on our website and rocket. Also, we attached a straw to the side in order to keep it stable. So, it is ready to be launched on January 4th.
